Polypipe and IDS supply attenuation system for Born, Netherlands

Polypipe International, working with IDS, has supplied a sub-base replacement stormwater attenuation solution for a town centre in the Netherlands.

With rain falling consistently throughout the year, the centre of Born, a town near Sittard in the Netherlands, required a rainwater attenuation solution to manage stormwater runoff. Polypipe worked closely with technical sales agent IDS, to successfully establish Polystorm in the Dutch market, and build a strong market presence throughout the Netherlands.

Polystorm modular cells combine in an interlocking raft to provide water storage structures. Each cell has a 95% void ratio and provides a highly efficient, SuDS compliant water retention, attenuation or infiltration solution, perfectly suited to help with localised flood alleviation and surface water management.

Alongside main contractor, BLM Wegenbouw, Polypipe and IDS were able to co-ordinate product delivery, and offer technical and design support throughout the project. By getting involved at an early stage of the project, the team was able to provide suitable products and assist in the design, specification and drainage planning strategy to suit the required levels of treatment.

Having secured a number of high profile projects within the region since 2015, Polypipe’s solutions could be relied upon for the Born project.
