Surface Water Attenuation

Attenuation is the process of storing and slowly releasing surface water run-off, and is one of the key features of sustainable drainage systems (SuDS).

By slowing down the rate at which surface water enters sewers or water courses, it reduces the risk of downstream flooding.

All construction projects are different with varying site conditions. Design loads, design lives, geotechnical parameters and client specifications can all differ. At Polypipe we have strived to develop the widest portfolio of attenuation solutions which enables the most appropriate solution to be utilised.

Attenuation can be provided as part of either our Permavoid system (a shallow geocellular solution), our Polystorm system (a deep geocellular system) and our Ridgistorm-XL system (a large diameter pipe solution). In addition, flow control can be achieved with the use of our RIDGISTORM Check chamber range.

  • Polystorm - Geocellular System

The tried and tested Polystorm geocellular range is designed to provide retention, attenuation or infiltration at a variety of depths. It is ideally suited to deeper applications and can accommodate a wide range of traffic loadings, from pedestrianised areas to large

  • Permavoid - Geocellular System

The Permavoid system comprises of high strength modular cells suitable for sub-base replacement, plus components that incorporate silt/oil treatment and shallow flow controls into the system.

  • Ridgistorm-XL - Large Diameter Pipe System

Ridgistorm-XL is an engineered thermoplastic large diameter pipe system, in diameters 750-3000mm, for use in a wide variety of applications including surface water, foul water, combined sewers, large scale flood alleviation schemes and renewable energy
